Heart no Kuni no Alice

January 25, 2010

Heart no Kuni no Alice is a funny manga….
I like how the characters like to hit each other with the gun instead of shooting it.

Maybe it’s too violent?

Hope to play the game soon.

Gintoki’s Teacher

January 22, 2010

After watching episode 180 of Gintama,
I have come to realize Shouyou-sensei had a big impact on our main characters..

For example, Gintoki’s way of the sword,
and Katsura’s sense of fashion.

Koma of the Day – Oresama Teacher

January 3, 2010

Oresama Teacher,
a shoujo manga I am currently reading.
There is a hint of Teacher x Student relationship,
otherwise it’s just an innocent story about friendship and trying not to go beating idiot classmates into a bloody pulp.

(This particular koma is from chapter 18.)

Game to try: League of Legends

December 27, 2009

Hey all you DotA people who want something fresh, or newbies who want to try DotA but aren’t sure if you can play it at all! There’s a new game in town called League of Legends you can try out, for FREE! (Sounds like I’m advertising. Perhaps in a way I am.)

League of Legends (LoL, lol) is what people would call a RTS/”DotA-based” game where the gameplay is pretty much DotA with different heroes, maps, and item sets. It’s humorous, easy to pick up, and perfect for newbies because of it’s player-friendly tutorial. There is also a forum you can post all of your questions on, and the staff members are always happy to help you out.

Personally, I prefer League of Legends over it’s rival game, Heroes of Newerth and the original, DotA. It is casual and a lot more humorous which I think is necessary to keep a.. Humorous crowd. Have you ever played a game of “I HAZ PWND YOU NOOB”? I hate that elitist stuff. You’re playing a game kid, get a life.

Not to say there is absolutely no competition at all. You’ll find your competitive crowd in League of Legends as you gain levels and make friends. You can invite each other for premade teams and play normal games to even tournament games (currently it is at pre-season so the tournament is not up yet. Get practicing >:O)!

I wish I could take some screen shots myself but since I’m running a Mac and it’s missing a PrntScrn key on my keyboard for Windows, I guess screen shots taken from curse.com will do. Please click the link to visit the original page these pictures were posted on.

10 hour Gintama (almost) marathon.

December 24, 2009

Yes, I spent 10 hours watching Gintama.. At work. Episode 95 was rather amusing. Would have been hilarious if it were a Gyakuten Saiban parody. Gintoki’s suit totally reminds me of Mitsurugi Reiji.

That and decided to be productive and sketch a bit.

Street Fighter IV’s Juri!

December 23, 2009

While reading the Capcom Unity blog, I stumbled upon some interesting news! Apparently this one Juri chick is one of Capcom’s newest addition to Street Fighter IV. As an introduction, Capcom officially gave a pretty model some Juri-makeover. Cosplay! Though I admit this Juri character doesn’t look exactly “Korean”, I still love the character design.

Apparently I’m not the only one who thinks she doesn’t look Korean. Some Korean guy on a Korean bulletin board redid the Juri skin with a game screenshot…

APPARENTLY, apparently is the new hype.

I found the image on Kotaku, with a brief article about how (summing it up) Koreans don’t like Capcom’s design. They were also nice enough NOT to include full translations in their post, explaining this image. Here is what the Korean guy who made this image really said:

“By putting together many suggestions,
I got rid of the pig-tails, made the eyes less sharp,
and even gave her a Taekwondo uniform.”

Up to here, Kotaku had it on spot – then they totally missed the next part:

“Though it looks more Korean, she became too plain
as a video game character, her uniqueness is more on the minus side .”

Hey Kotaku, I don’t really care about Koreans liking or not liking stuff but I think you at least owe them a post edit for being such a… sound-byte! (You know, those things that make Politicians sound really, really evil by cutting out the “important part”?)

Original Korean post here, and Kotaku’s post (from October, yes I am slow) is here.

Then again, no one probably cares about a post from October. It’s almost like reviving a dead forum thread.

Hello world!

Post filler!
First posts are always awkward.

Maybe I’ll fill it up with something later. Maybe not.
